Ion Exchange

In the field of adsorption processes, where there is an interaction between the solid phase and some components in the liquid phase, Ion exchange happens in reversible reactions between functional groups bound to an inter polymer matrix (resin), and the ions present in the solution in contact with the solid.

According to the different affinities between functional groups and the ions to be exchanged, and the concentration of all of these, running conditions (Driving force) may be planned so that, during the production and regeneration phase, the chemical equilibrium may be shifted in a certain direction.

Ion exchange applications are the following:

  • Demineralizing Units (co-current and counter-current technologies)

  • Softening Units
  • Decotionization Units

  • Dealkalization Units

  • Water Recycling In Metal Industries

  • Nitrate and Sulfate Removal

  • Removing and Recycling of Heavy Metals

  • Ultra pure water production

  • Pharmaceutical Products Separation and Recorvering

  • Recycling of Valuable Metals In The Metal Industry

FARAN`S Ion Exchange Units makes it possible to reach the higher standard in different industries. These systems are resinous and can be used singular or with Reverse Osmosis Units.
